Another Death In the Hood(Compton & Los Angeles)

You know what I hate more than anything, people blaming the constant death and shootings on gangs and gang-members. I sat at the park yesterday & you know what most circle say about gangs, " I hope they all just go away, Die". I have to always argue and deliberate by saying, "Don't blame all killings in the hood on gangs, please." What about the rapes in the hood. What about the child abuse, and the drug abuse, and the constant low income demolition we see everyday in the hood. What about life getting so bad that Walmart backs it's truck into the hood, which in turn drives out all the small businesses, where most have to resort to other means of making a living, which leads most of the time to unpaid loans, repoed homes, etc. Black people where I am from understand the importance of gangs in the neighborhood. The respect we get in the corporate world, Gangs. The consistency in hip hop, the culture that even the ones who don't dapple in the gang life, the ones who are making money exploiting the life, Gangs. When we Cali folk go to another city in the world, & one person walk up to us and say, " Where you from man?" You say, " I'm from Cali man, Why?" Gangs brought that love to the world. Tookie brought that world to the for front. Snoop brought the joy of gangs to the world. Gangs brought the undoubtedly respect for our culture. No one else has what gangs have. No one else walks with the charisma that gang members do. We tend to hate them for their actions, but gangs don't kill at will, like the media and general public think they do. Come on guys, do you really think gangs are that capable of keeping a government who brought down an entire country in 3 months scared and afraid, if they served no benefit. They hold all the unwanted keys to economic growth, and that's something the government will never say, that's something they will never come forward and say, because then it will expose the excuse they have been hiding behind for so long. Another Death in the hood! Gangs, no. Bonafide crazy, drug induced, uneasy murderers who just happen to live in the hood, a definite possibility.
